After a winter sadly devoid of snow, spring is hitting Seattle early this year. Flowers are blooming, the sun is shining, and I am itching to go hiking.
More specifically, I want to be on top of a mountain, with that exhilarating blend of feeling simultaneously tiny (because from the peak you can see just how small you are in relation to everything else) and huge (because from the top of the mountain everything else is a tiny speck below you).
I have never felt this feeling stronger than when hiking in the Himalayas. I only took a short trek in Nepal. Five days is not long enough to summit anything in the region.
